TASTING THE BASQUE COUNTRY IN LONDON
After Bilbao, Basque cuisine was taken to London by Chef Eneko Atxa, more specifically to Covent Garden. Eneko at One Aldwych succeeds Azurmendi, a victorious success with three Michelin stars.
And being in the town of Sherlock Holmes and John Watson, to know that Basque Eneko’s Basque cuisine has a twist is "elementary". Just as it is "elementary" to know that in Eneko at One Aldwych wine can be tasted from the personal vineyards of this renowned chef, Gorka Izagirre, served exclusively in the restaurant.
The new space combines a relaxed and cozy atmosphere, being the first restaurant designed by the renowned Casson Mann, to the traditional tastes of the sea, and Iberian, characteristic of the Basque Country. As a Basque restaurant in London, the design combines materials from the home country of the renowned chef with the original Edwardian steel structure.
