ARCHITECTURE, ENVIRONMENT AND HARMONY
Located in the Plateau-Mont-Royal, Canada, this centennial home has a new life after his owners wish to "reborn" in this space, establishing a new dialogue with the surrounding environment. Responding to the family`s wishes, Microclimat designed a low-impact intervention that consisted of adding a new space that came to occupy a small portion of the original building`s garden. The new modern building established a strong contrast to the original design of the house, accented with the introduction of a steel staircase that connects the spaces. On top of the new building, the architects added a mezzanine which houses the master bedroom and enjoys direct access to the new terrace of the house.
Founded in 2013, Microclimat is a promising architectural firm whose work is based on the principle that architecture and environment are always closely related and must be respected.
