ARCHITECTURE WITH THE DOORS OPEN
The Open House is an annual initiative that invites the public to explore different places and to know the architectural and urban heritage of excellence. Now in its second edition, Open House Porto 2016 will have 51 buildings opening their doors on 18th and 19th of June. During the initiative, the participants will have access to an extensive program of courses and will visits a number of spaces that highlight the excellence of Oporto, Gaia and Matosinhos heritage. This edition bets on a rise of the guided tours and has 62 experts, including the authors of the architectural projects involved in the event.

Leça da Palmeira`s Lighthouse
Places like the Leça da Palmeira`s Lighthouse, the Great Hotel of Oporto or the House of Architecture are included in the scripts of this second edition. To make it more inclusive, this year’s Open House Porto has partnered with the Provider of Disabled Citizens of Oporto’s City Hall. This partnership allowed the creation of two visits with sensory experiences, designed to meet the special needs of the blind, visually impaired and deaf people. Created in 1992 by Victoria Thornton, the Open House was born in London and has spread to the whole world, today covering 31 countries.
