FERRARI WORLD ABU DHABI – STRUCTURAL ADRENALIN
With values such as respect, openness to diversity, loyalty and striving for excellence and innovation, Reynaers, founded in Belgium in 1965 and present on the five continents, has the essential mission of adding to the architectural value of buildings, by supplying creative and sustainable solutions in aluminium. Doors, windows, façades, systems for conservatories and shading, handles and other complementary items make up the vast range of products developed by Reynaers, which contribute to the looks and functionality of the building they are used on. Exuberant looks are a key feature of the Ferrari World Abu Dhabi theme park, for which Reynaers created bespoke solutions, including profiles, gaskets, the façade system, a steel support system for the funnel and sunscreen solution for the walkway. Given the technical, structural and architectural requirements of the complex, designed by Benoy Architects, built by Jungbluth Alu Partners S.A. and owned by Aldar Properties, Reynaers developed specific systems for the park, developing uncommon solutions thanks to the versatility and flexibility of the products from the Belgian company. Paying tribute to Ferrari, the theme park stands out brightly in the landscape of Yas Island, in Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates. From the roof, a swathe of red, emblazoned with the giant Ferrari logo; to the configuration, a undulating shape inspired by the classic double curve of the Ferrari GT body shell; to the area it takes up, an immense 200,000 sqm, 86,000 sqm of which are covered; to the centre of the building, where the ceiling dives down and joins up with the ground like a huge funnel; to the series of 20 experiences, rides and shows, including the world’s fastest rollercoaster, the Formula Rossa, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi stands out as an inventive construction, in which the adrenalin of the Ferrari universe is felt in its trajectories and curves, as much in the building as in the attractions it holds.
