2nd CIHCLB HELD IN FAUP
Held between 14 and 16 September at the Faculty of Architecture of University of Porto [FAUP], the 2nd International Congress on Luso-Brazilian Construction History – Shared Cultures was organized by the Center for Studies in Architecture and Urbanism, University of Porto (CEAU-UP), with the support of the Portuguese Society for Studies on Construction History (SPEHC), and brought together important names related to the discipline of international History of Construction.
After the success of the 1st International Congress on Luso-Brazilian Construction History, that took place in 2013 at Espírito Santo Federal University, in Vitória, Brazil, it was Portugal moment to organize the event, which had as one of its objectives the consolidation of the discipline, that has a set of cross-influences between the two countries.
Professor Rui Póvoas, Director of CEAU, revealed that the third Congress will be held in 2019, in Brazil, and that steps are being made for the "transformation of the Portuguese Society for Studies on Construction History (SPEHC) in a lusophone society, with cores in different countries, not only in Brazil, but also in Africa and in the East".
