A STUDIO IN THE MIDDLE OF NATURE
Terracotta Studio, located next to Thu Bon river, in Quang Nam Province in Vietnam, is the studio of renowned artist Le Duc Ha.
The project, developed by Tropical Space, is a cube-shaped building, made by clay solid brick, honoring the traditional buildings of the area. The way the bricks were willing created a perforated structure that allows ventilation of the building and a greater contact with nature. The interior of the studio consists of a three-storey system built from wood modules that create shelves where the artist can exhibit his work and corridors that allow circulation in the building. In the centre of the studio, there is a turning table where Le Duc Ha works, taking advantage of the natural light that enters through the top of the building. On the mezzanine, visitors enjoy a privileged view of the interior and exterior of the studio and can still see the artist through the round opening in the center of the structure.
The Terracotta Studio won the award for Best Residential Architecture for the Termitary House at AZ Award 2016.
