Restaurant Astória

“TRADITIONAL, SEASONAL AND CLASSIC”

 

The restaurant of Palácio das Cardosas – hotel InterContinental Porto – just premiered the first menu with chef Francisco Pico’s signature. The ideia behind this menu, which combines what is “traditional, seasonal and classic”, is that, through the palate, one can discover Portugal.
In Astória it is now possible to taste appetizers such as Butter pumpkin soup with lemon crême fraiche and typical Portuguese sausages crumble or the Roasted beetroot salad with caramelized nuts, blue cheese and arugula. On what concern the main dishes, the Cured codfish (cooked in low temperature) flavoured with lemon and coriander, chickpea puree and caramelized shallots or, for example, Charcoal roasted lamb tenderloin, leek and mushrooms ashes and potatoes puree with toasted butter stand out. On the desserts, the eyes jump to Abade de Priscos pudin with Porto wine ice cream, reinvented by chef Francisco Pico.
This new Astória’s menu was thought out with the concept of Modern Portuguese Cuisine in mind and wants to “answer the most exquisite tastes”.
