Casa Fanu

WITHIN NATURE

We are in Sarzedela, near the village of Ansião, district of Leiria. Close to the centre of Portugal. The concrete structure develops in the middle of the nature, nonetheless it doesn´t collide. Among the surrounding vegetation. They fit together. It looks like it has always been there. We travel far away. We become alienated. It seems to us as a perfect refuge. It is the oak and the olive trees that show us the way. There, on a significant size stretch of land, somewhat sloping, was built Casa Fanu – projected on a single floor, slightly elevated from the ground, the house was planned considering a focal awareness: to respect and preserve the surrounding nature as much as possible. Bruno Lucas Dias, the architect who signed the project, designed a building that charms us for its comfort and innovation. A place that invites you to go in. And to stay.
