Exit Here

Exit Here’s goal is to be a space for modern funerals, where one can celebrate the life of those who have passed away. Oliver Peyton, who owns a chain of restaurants, in partnership with Barry Pritchard, a third generation funeral director, developed a concept which wants to provide a complete service – from as customized casket to catering. The space was an essential piece to shape this concept, therefore Transit Studio’s intervention was focused on a project that creates a modern and warming ambiance, with more light – as an “antithesis of traditional funeral homes”.

The front window is minimal, with a handwritten sign. In the interior, there is a lobby and two private meeting rooms, and the décor has pieces such as vintage star maps and contemporary, as well as vintage, furniture. The aim was more comfortable place to a sadder moment and that is how Exit Here, in Chiswick, England, was envisioned.
