It was born as an experimental studio, in 1990, by the hand of Paulo Martins Barata, João Luís Ferreira, Paulo Perloiro, Pedro Appleton and João Perloiro and, today, PROMONTORIO keeps assuming itself just the same in the way.
We are in Alvalade’s area, in one of the most frantic Lisbon streets, but immediately we are transported to the deepest East.
There are projects that stretch through time. They live in another era, exist in different lives, in a different way. This is one of them.
It was still dark when we started this incredible trip. We got in the train at dawn, in Porto, and, with our look lost in the view, we saw Portugal through the window.

The second exhibition cycle of 2018 was dedicated essentially to two acknowledged Portuguese artists: Julião Sarmento, with Leopard in a Cage, which includes projects that have never been exposed before, and Pedro A.H. Paixão.
We are in Copenhagen, where, among so many other ventures, there are workspaces from the future. Better, more beautiful, more comfortable, ready to answer every need from those who work there.
At the end of July 2018, we discovered a place, a story and two people that made us believe that perfection and happiness are possible at some point in our lives.
From the facade to the cobbled street. From a destructed space, so damaged that its recovery seemed almost impossible, to a house entirely rehabilitated, with ancient features but absolutely contemporary.
