Life is a Journey
In Vilamoura, Algarve, in one of the most desirable places in Portugal was born the very first hotel of Anantara`s group in Europe. The Anantara experience began in 2001 in Thailand where the group opened its first luxury property. Today, Minor Hotel Group`s portfolio expanded throughout the world to 13 destinations.
It is easy to fall in love with Anantara Vilamoura Algarve Resort. And we fell in love right upon arrival, by the courtesy and detail with which we are greeted. At Anantara Vilamoura, every detail counts and what can be experienced is much more than a pleasant stay. It is a splendorous journey. A journey to the finest that is produced in Portugal and, especially, in the Algarve. And that is why, on arrival, the ‘welcome experience’ serves us a glass of orange juice (from the Algarve), almonds and figs. Surely, the best we have ever tasted. The sun was almost setting when we arrived at Vilamoura. Situated in a privileged spot on the Algarve´s coast, what Anantara proposes makes us want to stay. Where peacefulness and glamour are sovereign, here Anantara offers 280 luxurious rooms. And it`s fascinating how serenity is the highlight in a place that holds more than two hundred rooms. Before dinner at the EMO restaurant, there was still time to get to know the suite they reserved for us. With an exquisite view to Victoria´s Golf Course, everything there was also thoughtfully intended. The comfort, the design, the welcome card by the terrace, a handcrafted basket with fresh fruit, reminds us once again where we are, rescuing one of the most representative handmade traditions of the Algarve region. Despite the inevitable fatigue, as we had driven from Porto to Algarve, we had high expectations for dinner that awaited us in the most exquisite of the four places that create the gastronomic offer of Anantara Vilamoura. The EMO restaurant – an abbreviation of the English word ´emotions` – is a tribute to Portuguese flavours.
