La Barquière

ONE BUILDING, TWO FAÇADES

La Barquière is a 62 housing project, designed by atelier Pietri Architectes, in Marseille. A building from the 18th century that was on site was preserved and, in the new structure a duality between the northern and south façade was created. On the first one, the architects designed a “straight and angular” with white faceted mosaic, which creates different light effects. On the second one, as a contrast, the flowing balconies stand out.
The project is in La Barquière avenue, in an environment where one finds, at the same time, the forest and the urbanized.
