KENNEDY FAMILY IN LISBON
In June 2018, Le Consulat Hotel presents the first exhibition of photographs of the Kennedy family to be held in Portugal. The exhibition features 160 images of John Fitzgerald Kennedy, Jacqueline Kennedy and their children during JFK’s presidency, selected by Frédéric Lecomte-Dieu, the most important biographer of the United States of America. In addition to the photographs, the exhibition includes a unique reproduction of Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy’s wedding dress, which required more than six months of work and four kilometers of thread. Also included is a model of President John F. Kennedy’s rocking chair from the JFK Museum in Boston. The former president used this to relieve his severe back pain and had twelve just like this one divided between Palm Beach, Air Force One, Hyannis Port, the Oval Office and various other places. As part of the traveling exhibition “THE KENNEDY YEARS”, a “Jackie” collector’s scarf will be available for purchase. This is a limited edition item of 500 copies, measuring 90 cm x 90 cm, made of 100% natural silk and inspired by the scarf worn by Jackie on September 15, 1962, with her husband, during the America’s Cup. The exhibition can be visited between June 20 and September 9, 2018.
