BRAZILIAN ARTIST OPENS EXHIBITION AT BAGINSKI GALLERY

Eleven years after their last show in Portugal, Arthur Luiz Piza returns to Lisbon to present the exhibition “containment, dispersal ” from May 18. After starting the artistic practice in print, the renowned Brazilian artist developed his own language, covering a path where the need to use the third dimension soon became apparent. The exhibition presents a Piza course reflection interpreting this double contradictory condition (containment, dispersion), a result of the meeting of two artistic contexts – Brazilian and European .
Arthur Luiz Piza was born in São Paulo in 1928 but lives and works in Paris. He started their artistic route in 1940, studied painting and fresco with Antonio Gomide and began engraving studies with Johnny Friedlaender in 1953 in Paris.
